Surgery & recovery

Recovery is part of the story.

Surgery is part of my transition, and that makes it part of TransSculpt. I want to write about the preparation, the time away from training, the experience of healing, and the decisions that follow - not only the result.

Preparing for change.

As I plan body-contouring procedures, including a BBL and rib remodeling, I am thinking beyond a before-and-after image. I want to document what I ask, how I prepare, and what it means to make room for recovery in a life built around movement.

Time away is still part of the practice.

Recovery asks me to value things that a workout log may not capture: eating, resting, accepting help, keeping appointments, and following the instructions given for my care. This chapter is not a challenge to lose the least fitness or return the fastest.

Learning the body again.

I want this section to make room for body image, comfort, range of motion, confidence, and the questions that come with change. I will distinguish what I expected from what I actually experience.

Returning without a deadline.

Returning to running, yoga, or lifting will be a separate chapter, guided by my own recovery and the clinicians involved in my care. I will not turn my timeline into a schedule for someone else's body.

How to read these entries.

These are personal accounts, not procedure recommendations or postoperative instructions. Surgical decisions, activity restrictions, nutrition needs, and return-to-exercise plans belong with qualified clinicians who know the person receiving care.

Planned, completed, and ongoing experiences will be labeled clearly. A procedure will not be described as completed until it has actually happened and I have chosen to share it.
